Flood! A life lesson???

Currently, Malaysians' attention are drawn to the FLOOD disaster which hits the Borneo Sabah in particular areas. Based on the news, the flood in Kota Belud is getting worse as it was reported that the flood victims in the district have increased to more than 1,000 people comapred to 409 people as of 8 pm yesterday (12/12/17).

Not long before the disaster hit Sabah, the East Peninsular of Malaysia particularly Kelantan and Terengganu were also experiencing the same problem. Days of non-stop heavy rain led to heavy flood which had left hundreds of households badly affected by the flood. Since then, things were never the same. Things were falling apart. They did not get to sleep well on nice comfy bed, they did not get to enjoy decent meal, they brought smiles on their faces as the flood areas had become their playground at the expense of their lives. They kept waiting and the situation were seemed to never turn around in their favour.

I am Kelantanese. I lived in Machang. My town was as equally being badly affected by the flood as other villages and parts of Kelantan. Fortunately, being located on higher ground had left us unaffected by the flood. We were never got surrounded by water and the the situation was totally in control. In fact, as for me, the heavy rain was a blessing. I could never enjoy sleeping better than on rainy, cold, gloomy day. The weather was just perfect for me to go for a long hours of beautiful and sound sleep. However, seeing all the struggles that the people had to go through had got me thinking, "is a flood a disaster or rather a blessing?". This is the big question that keeps haunted me till today.

I might see it as a blessing. Indeed it was a blessing. Apart from having the luxury of long hours of beautiful sleep, I had the opportunity to learn an important lesson in life. Perhaps, the flood was there because some of us just hardly being grateful to God and being ignorant. Despite being pampered enough by God, we turned away from Him. We went against Him, disobeyed Him, and were sinful towards Him. We least remembered Him and were too busy went after the wealth in this temporary world. Now, we had to pay the price. Still, because of the Mercy of God, He did not take everything away from us. He still let us live another day just so to give some rooms for us to redeem our mistakes and repent.

I knew things were not the same. I might not get to imagine how difficult and challenging it was to be the shoes of those affected by the flood. Some of the were greatly traumatized by the disaster and still are not over it. They kept haunted by nightmares and definitely would take forever to fully get healed. I would like to extend my condolences to those affected. My thoughts and prayers are with them. May God turns the situation around and things would get better soon and fall into place. May those affected were blesses with the strength to face the difficulty. Keep going and shake off the negativity and never stop to move forward. You are not alone in this. Malaysians are together in lending a helping hand and would always come around to get their feed back on the ground. We are only one call away and should you need us, we will always be there. This is the true color of Malaysian.

The collocation 'fast food' is describing the food which is quick to be prepared and served. People in today's world are modernized with the emergence of many different types of fast food. Most people go for fast food as they find it easier  and quicker when it comes the time for their meals. They only have to visit the walk counter or drive-thru window in order to get the food.
Food which is low in cost usually offers a threat to the health as it contains a lot of ingredients which are bad in terms of minerals and nutrients content. They are often made with cheaper ingredients such as high fat meat, refined grains, and added sugar and fats, instead of nutritious ingredients such as lean meats, fresh fruits, and vegetables.
Most of people regarded fast food as ‘bad’, however as long as the food is edible; it is going to be a great demand for it by the people. As long as the fast food is not taken that frequently, it would not cause harm to the consumers. The fast food must be taken in moderation as consuming this type of food regularly over a long period of time would badly affect the body. Eating a lot of fast food high in sodium, would cause high blood pressure which may lead to death.
As fast food refers to any poor nutrition food that is easily prepared, fast food may include chips, hot pies, pasties, sandwiches, burgers, croissants, kebabs, pizzas, chicken, soups, and salads. It also includes drinks, for instance, milkshakes, and soft drinks. We can take a closer and deeper look at the most famous fast food exemplary; burger. Most burgers are made-up of a piece of bread with a slice of meat, cheese, tomato, eggs, burgers and hot dogs. Each brand of burger have its own cooking instructions microwave in the package, pan fry in a little oil, microwave out of the package, and/or pop in the toaster.
Food is a necessary item in our lives. We need food to remain energetic for our routine lives. However, if the food only brings damages to our health, we should consider twice before consuming those food especially on a regular basis. Fast food is famous for its high content of sugar and fat. Eating too much of these can lead to obesity if we are unable to burn off the calorie through physical exercise.  Obesity epidemic become dilemma amongst people throughout the world. Over the past twenty years, the number of obese children has doubled, and the number of obese teens has tripled. As of 2004 it is estimated that nine million children between the ages of 6-18 are obese. A stunning 65 percent of American adults are overweight. This includes 127 million overweight adults, approximately 60 million obese adults and 9 million considered morbidly obese, or more than 100 pounds overweight.
Many of us try to deny the negative impact of fast food on our health as they are greatly in love with it. They are blinded by the great taste aroused by the fast food. In truth, they are well aware of the detrimental impact of fast food on physical and mental health. Physically, it can cause serious illnesses such obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. These are the consequences for the frequent consumption of fast food. If we fail to feed our minds what is needed then something else will take its place. Boredom and material conflict are often symptoms of mental starvation without compensation taking place. Like the body, the mind needs certain foods to function in a more healthy way.
