The collocation 'fast food' is describing the food which is quick to be prepared and served. People in today's world are modernized with the emergence of many different types of fast food. Most people go for fast food as they find it easier and quicker when it comes the time for their meals. They only have to visit the walk counter or drive-thru window in order to get the food.
Food which is low in cost usually offers a threat to the health as it contains a lot of ingredients which are bad in terms of minerals and nutrients content. They are often made with cheaper
ingredients such as high fat meat, refined grains, and added sugar and fats,
instead of nutritious ingredients such as lean meats, fresh fruits, and
vegetables.
Most of people regarded fast food
as ‘bad’, however as long as the food is edible; it is going to be a great
demand for it by the people. As long as the fast food is not taken that
frequently, it would not cause harm to the consumers. The fast food must be
taken in moderation as consuming this type of food regularly over a long period
of time would badly affect the body. Eating a lot of fast food high in sodium,
would cause high blood pressure which may lead to death.
As
fast food refers to any poor nutrition food that is easily prepared, fast
food may include chips, hot pies, pasties, sandwiches, burgers,
croissants, kebabs, pizzas, chicken, soups, and salads. It also includes
drinks, for instance, milkshakes, and soft drinks. We can take a closer and deeper look at the most famous fast food
exemplary; burger. Most burgers are made-up of a
piece of bread with a slice of meat, cheese, tomato, eggs, burgers and hot
dogs. Each brand of burger have its own cooking instructions microwave in the
package, pan fry in a little oil, microwave out of the package, and/or pop in the
toaster.
Food is a necessary item in our lives. We need food to remain energetic for our routine lives. However, if the food only brings damages to our health, we should consider twice before consuming those food especially on a regular basis. Fast food is famous for its high content of sugar and fat. Eating too much of these can lead to obesity if we are unable to burn off the calorie through physical exercise. Obesity
epidemic become dilemma amongst people throughout the world. Over the past twenty years, the number of obese children has doubled, and the number of obese teens has tripled. As of 2004 it is estimated that nine million children between the ages of 6-18 are obese. A stunning 65 percent of American adults are overweight. This includes 127 million overweight adults, approximately 60 million obese adults and 9 million considered morbidly obese, or more than 100 pounds overweight.
Many of us
try to deny the negative impact of fast food on our health as they are greatly
in love with it. They are blinded by the great taste aroused by the fast food.
In truth, they are well aware of the detrimental impact of fast food on
physical and mental health. Physically, it can cause serious illnesses such obesity,
high blood pressure, and diabetes. These are the consequences for the frequent
consumption of fast food. If we fail to feed our
minds what is needed then something else will take its place. Boredom and
material conflict are often symptoms of mental starvation without compensation
taking place. Like the body, the mind needs certain foods to function in a more
healthy way.
